Concept
At first glance, the garden appears idyllic: flowers in bloom, perfect green grass, and a pristine white picket fence. It represents the life we are taught to desire—security, beauty, success, love, and belonging. But the fence is not surrounding a home. It is wrapped around her. Paradise, Confined explores the invisible boundaries we build while pursuing the idea of a perfect life. The relationships, careers, possessions, identities, and expectations we collect can give us comfort and purpose, yet quietly become the very structures that restrict us. Beyond the fence, flowers continue to grow upward, refusing to remain contained. They represent the parts of ourselves that still reach beyond the boundaries we have accepted. The work asks a simple question: When does the life we worked so hard to build become the life we are afraid to leave?
